WASHINGTON — The United States and Ukraine have signed a new agreement to support the joint development of the countrys industrial steel industry and the creation of a new Ukrainian steel mill.
The agreement, reached Tuesday by President-elect Donald Trump, also calls for the U.K. and China to invest billions of dollars in Ukraine.
In the agreement, signed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the two countries will create a “global consortium of high-tech, low-carbon industries.”
The agreement calls for an investment of at least $1 billion, but the U,S.
administration said that figure could be much higher.
